![]() And typically use Flagged as my homescreen. I also picked up the tip on here to Flag Reminders for tasks you are actively working on. You can now group lists together so I use groups to separate Areas of Focus and Projects visually and tags/smart filters to manage across all of those groups. You can import reminders in but you cant sync or export back out.įor anybody wondering how I live with Reminders after using Things: I use tags and smart lists to replicate Things Someday, NextActions, and Cancelled features. I wish Things would treat reminders as simply an API and allow you to manage reminders from within the app. Turning that feature off feels much better. Overdue reminders never felt right and cluttered my experience. Thank you!!! Ive switched over to reminders since iOS15 for the main reason that Reminders interface across the entire OS and many other apps (especially calendar apps) import the reminders and let you manage/visualize them within their app. ![]() Has location-reminders ('when messaging' is a non-Apple pipe dream), integrates with Fantastical. Just feels like there will never be one app that does it all. It has location-based reminders and comments, but looks crap. It sounds daft to discount an app because of a font, but I hate Todoist's font. Todoist - UI just feels ill-thought-through, even though it's quite similar to Things in many ways. Not being able to add location-based reminders from the desktop app is a big one, and maybe it's just because it looks a little 'babyish'? Comments are great, but I don't share lists with others really and so seems silly. But there's just something about the UI that jars on them Mac, and I can't quite put my finger on it. TickTick - has nearly every feature I've listed here other than prompts when messaging someone, which I doubt any other app would get.Doesn't work with Fantastical, but you can drag n drop items into Fantastical as calendar entries Location based reminders would clinch it for me, but we shouldn't have to faff with Shortcuts to work. Unable to add images other than as a direct file link is a big issue. Love the Today view, and that it shows calendar entries there too. Tucking details away from view until needed is great, smooth animations and just feels pleasant to use. Notes + URLS in task notes makes it too busy, and just doesn't use the real estate well. UI for an Apple product is cluttered yet sparse at the same time. ![]() Reminders - baked in, works with Fantastical, location-based reminders + messaging someone, and links to other Apple apps = great.I keep having a crisis about which app to use.
